Thoughts on staying safe…

One of the things I tell people when I am doing a seminar is to "imagine yourself being the victim of a particular crime." If a person thinks about "what would happen if someone came up to me right now…" and then they think through the scenario, it begins to give them a base resource to draw from if they found themselves in a similar situation.

We trained the same way in law enforcement. Obviously, they can't expose us to all situations in training so we discuss various scenarios. Even when I was training recruits, we would get them thinking about the "what would you do if…" situations.

People can benefit from doing similar exercises because if they are ever faced with a crime situation that they "what if-ed" then they may have developed a plan of action.
