PREDATORS CLASSIFICATION: Terrorism
Terrorists attempt to create fear and overthrow the current order. These predators are usually driven by political or religious ideologies and feel that their crimes are therefore justified. Terrorism can be broken down into domestic and international categories, both of which are growing epidemics in today's world.
The most prominent case of domestic terrorism in recent history was the tragedy of 9/11. Other cases of domestic terrorism include the case of the Unabomber Ted Kizinski and the Oklahoma City Bomber Timothy McVeigh.
Ted Kizinski, a brilliant man whose anti-social tendencies led him to send bombs through the mail. Kizinski, labeled the Unabomber, built bombs for 18 years for the recognition it brought him. And in many ways these bombs began to define his existence. He killed three people and injured another twenty-six before he was finally apprehended.
There is agrowing trend of copycat terrorists: people with no specific agenda, who mimic terrorists just because they can. After the Columbine school shooting there were 300 copycat cases in which children walked into schools and started shooting.
