PREDATORS CLASSIFICATION: Spree Killers
Definition of a Spree Killer
PREDATORS CLASSIFICATION: Spree Killers
A spree killer is a person who kills repeatedly over a short period of time, usually a few weeks. He is a hybrid between a serial killer and a mass murderer and tends to move around a lot, targeting people and taking few precautions. He feels safe leaving one crime scene and going to another. He is usually driven by frustration and anger, not by mental illness.
An example of a spree killer is Charles S.. He and his girlfriend went on a shooting spree and killed six people. Starkweather patterned himself after James Dean and even dressed like him. This non-conformist, rebel mentality is common with this type of predator.
Andrew C. was also a spree killer. He was a homosexual man who thought he was infected with the AIDS virus and began killing gay men in Florida. His last victim, and the one that put him in the news, was the fashion designer Versace.
