PREDATORS CLASSIFICATION: Mass Murderers
As unbelievable as it may seem, the killing of five or more people at one time occurs every five to six days in America. These multiple murders are categorized in two groups: public mass murder and domestic mass murder. This type of predator usually has a history of mental illness and acts in desperation and anger. He often intends mass murder as his final statement to the world. In most of these cases, the predator has no game plan for escape and is usually killed by police or kills himself.
In 1984, James H., recently laid off from his job and feeling extremely angry, told his wife, "I'm gonna go hunting humans." Even though he had an obsession with guns, his wife did not believe him. In a ten-minute time frame, he killed 21 people at a McDonalds, and injured another 19. Many of the patrons he killed were children.
In 1999, Mark B., a day trader, killed his wife and two kids. He then went to work and fired 200 rounds of ammunition, killing 9 of his co-workers. Barton had killed his first wife and her mother years earlier, but nobody could prove it. He married again, lost his money day trading, then killed his second wife and two kids, and went on the shooting rampage before taking his own life.
