Most children who kill are between ages 15-17 and they usually kill their parents and/or siblings. These children feel rejected and have no emotional connection to their family or to society in general.
Dr. Frank Ascione is one of the world's leading authorities on the connection between animal abuse, child abuse, and domestic violence. In the fall of 2001, the U.S. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention published Ascione's review of animal abuse and youth violence as a Research Bulletin. He will provide information on how to detect early warning signs, before teen violence escalates to murder.
